What was the purpose for Christ speaking the Ten Commandments and what was the end results that Christ wanted to achieve in His people? The purpose He gave His Ten Commandment Covenant to them was to give them His standard of conduct for them to live their lives in His Holiness. The Ten Commandments of Christ was given to them as Schoolmaster to accomplish what? To bring them to having the righteous life of Christ living within. (Gal 3:24) "Wherefore the law was our SCHOOLMASTER to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. (Rom 10:4) "For Christ is the end of THE LAW FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS to every one that believeth. (Heb 8:10) -- "I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:" ****************************************************************** If you were to ask: What are the Ten Commandments and why did Christ make this Covenant with Israel? Less than 1% of The world's population could give a coherent answer. Most people who call themselves "Christians" simply do not know why Christ gave man His Ten Commandment Covenant through Israel. If they did, they would embrace it with all their heart. To not embrace it brings DEATH. Only a very few can recite the Ten Commandments in Christ's Covenant even through He said that if you follow His teachings and obey His' words, He would write them in your HEART, SOUL and MIND. The reason the Commandments are not in one's mind so that they can quote them, is because they have not embraced His Commonwealth of (Spiritual) Israel and joined themselves to the Covenant of promise He gave to His people Israel. (Eph 2:12) New Testament -- "strangers from the COVENANTS of promise, having NO HOPE, and WITHOUT GOD in the world:" If you were to ask: What was and still is the purpose or function for GOD GAVE THE Ten Commandment Covenant, most could not tell you. Remember, He did not make this Ten Commandment Law Covenant with His people Israel for no good reason, He made it to bring them to Christ. Most of the respondents would be reduced to vague answers. They simply do not know. Do you know why Christ made and gave the Covenant to all people who join themselves to His Commonwealth of Israel. The answer to this question is found in the scriptures above. To deliver them from the second death by bring them out of Babylon's (Egyptian Idol) worship of the Host of Heavens. (Deu 4:19) By becoming one of His People, the Life of Christ could once again be restored in you and you could escape the second death. Col 1:27 "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is CHRIST IN YOU, the hope of glory:" Eph 2:12 "That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel," CHRIST GAVE The Ten Commandments to man in a written form so they must have been important to Him and to the people He gave them to. They must be more important to mankind than Newton's several laws of Gravitation. God did not write them down for mankind, Newton did. Let me explain: God's Ten Commandments codifies (verbalizes) reveals the Spiritual Force of God's Love and power activated in the world when it is written and alive in the hearts of man. It also reveals the penalty for transgressing it in a written form. Jesus was the expressed image of this Spiritual force when the law are written in the heart of man. He called it "Christ in me". The powers of Christ are present in a man and at work in him when the Laws of Christ are written in that man's heart. The Spirit of the Christ is always present where the Ten Commandments are, in the ARC or in your heart. He promised to present in your heart when the Ten Commandments are written there. (Heb 1:8-9 KJV) "But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a SCEPTRE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS is the SCEPTRE of thy kingdom. {9} Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows." Here the sceptre (Authority in the kingdom) is the righteousness of the person. It is Christ here. Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing shall be impossible." Phil 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Psa 119:11 KJV) "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." David hid the Commandments of Christ in his heart and in his mind so that he would not sin. By doing so, he was always strengthened by Christ within and he had control over his sin nature through Christ's indwelling words. (Heb 8:10-12) When he did sin, the laws written in his heart always brought repentance and a return to Christ right WAY of living. What I am saying is this: The Ten Commandments when truly written in the heart and mind, will controls and orders the Spiritual dimension (obedience to Christ) in a more significant and profound manner than gravity controls the physical world. Again so that you may UNDERSTAND what I am saying, When the Ten Commandments have been indelibly imprinted (written) on the heart of a men, the Commandments have but one purpose and that purpose is to bring that man into a perfect relationship with the God who's commandments are written there. When one sins, the laws written in his heart will bring him to repentance. This is God's part in His Ten Commandment Covenant, to always bring a man back into the relationship with Him when man is obedient. This is Christ's working from within, not man working from without in his own strength to get right with Christ. Man's only duty in Christ's plan of salvation is to be obedient to do the WORDS (will) of Christ written in His Covenant so that the words in His Covenant will be written in man's heart. This was demonstrated in the life of Jesus. "He Loved Righteousness and hated enequity". (Gal 3:24-25 KJV) "Wherefore the law was our SCHOOLMASTER to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. {25} But after that faith is come, (after the commandments are written in the heart) we are no longer under a schoolmaster. Rom 10:4 "For Christ (being formed within you) is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." The LAW was our SCHOOLMASTER to bring us unto Christ". This is why the Law was given. Do away with the law and you have no schoolmaster to bring you to Christ. Christ only lives in you when you allow "Him to puts His Laws in your heart and written in your mind. That is the purpose of the Covenant. Heb 8:10 "For this is THE COVENANT that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MIND, AND WRITE THEM IN THEIR HEARTS: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:" If Christ is not in you, you have no HOPE. Col 1:27 "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; WITCH IS CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY:" Over the years much intellectual drivel has been spouted about the Ten commandments. Guilt ridden Bible preachers have been pounding the pulpits for years decrying man's inability to keep the Commandments. The much more weighty concern should be the recognition of the fact: that if we want the Covenant fulfilled in our lives, have no choice but to live our lives within the Ten Commandment Covenant He gave us to write them in our hearts! Not to keep The Commandments, is worse than trying to swim upstream in a quickly flowing river. What confuses most people is: They do not know what to do with their sin nature, or how to combat the insanity of sin (spiritual unhealthiness). Sin is defined in I John 3:4. "Sin is the transgression of The Law". What Law, The Ten Commandments. There is no other definitions, there is the only ONE definition sin in The Bible. What most men fail to realize is that Sin is only the symptom Mat 19:17 "And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is NONE IS GOOD BUT ONE, that is, God: but IF YOU WILL ENTER INTO LIFE, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS." If we keep His Holy Commandments we DO good, if not we DO evil (transgress the Law). The cause of sin originates from a thinking disorder. Man's biggest weakness is that he cannot determine what is good or evil without the help of the God who created him in flesh. Man has a built in capacity for accepting and internalizing false conceptualizations, think they are of god. Man's second biggest weakness is man's desensitization to know what is good and what is evil because of his desire to control his one destiny without Christ being in his life. He has no built in moral alarm systems as he does not have the Covenant laws written on his heart and in his mind. Another parable to illustrate the point: Sin is the deeper viral infection (sin) within our thinking process. By works (calamine lotion) we try to cure the Chickenpox. Carnal mans way of dealing with this sin sickness within man is to doing away with Christ's laws that defines Sin. We try to cure our carnal nature that causes our disobedience to our Creator's commandments by creating a man made law called the law of Grace. With this new law of man, we can transgress Christ's Holy Commands and still receive His Salvation He promised to them that keep His Covenant with Him. What is needed is a rethinking of what the Faith of Christ is, and a deep understanding of the WAY the words of Christ are truly trying to teach us as to how we can cure our sin problem. Luke 4:23 "And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself:" Science is the knowledge we receive from studying man or nature. Biblical Faith is what we get by studying and understanding the precepts disclosed in God's Word. If we understand what God's will is and do it, we have the same Faith (understanding) Jesus Christ had. If we are not doing God's will, it's our own faith ( knowledge without works) we are trying to be saved by. The real tragedy is that the Faith of Christ (living as He lived within the word) has been Since, fools believe anything and everything their church leaders tell them, no matter what denomination they are in, the very powerful words that reveal what of the "Faith of (James 2:17 KJV) "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." Believe it or not: Faith and belief are not synonyms. (James 2:19 KJV) "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." (Just believing that Christ is, won't get the job done.) Just believing that Jesus Christ is Gods only Son and that He died on the cross so the Father could forgive the sin of all the people who have repented of their sin will not get you saved. You too must also repent of the sins you are doing against God and become obedient to do His will so His Holy Spirit can come and be alive within you. (2 Cor 6:16-18 KJV) "And what agreement hath THE TEMPLE OF GOD WITH IDOLS? for YE ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD: as God hath said, I WILL DWELL IN THEM, and WALK IN THEM; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. {17} Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, {18} And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. (2 Cor 7:1) Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." (Col 1:27-28 KJV) "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: {28} Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:" The Devil who disobeyed Him, also believe in Him and trembles when He come into contact with a person in whom Christ is living as their God. (Rom 8:1-2 KJV) "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. {2} For THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." Only when there is "therefore no condemnation" for transgressing Gods Holy Laws are you "under" grace. When this happens you are not under the law as a teacher, but you are living above the law of sin and death and "under GRACE." If you have MASTERED the FAITH of CHRIST, you don't need the written law as a teacher to bring you to Christ, your already there. He is living in you as the LIVING WORD. (1 Cor 3:16-17 KJV) "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? {17} If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are." (Rom 8:9-10 KJV) "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. {10} And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness." Rev 2:7 "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God."
